Life in The 1920's Changed- Prohibition

1.What was Prohibition?
Prohibition was the banning of Alcohol.
2.What groups were responsible for the idea of Prohibition?
Social reformers wanted to ban alcoholic beverages. Support for Probition came mostly from the rural South and West.
3.What were their reasons?
They considered liquor as the prime cause of corruption. They believed that too much drinking would immediately lead to crime, abuse, accidents, and other types of social problems.
4.How did people get illegal alcohol?
Drinkers got illegal alcohol by going underground to hidden saloons and nightclubs also known as speakeasies. Also, penthouses, cellars, office buildings, and much more
5.In your own opinion, was Prohibition a good or bad idea, and why?
It was not necessarily a bad idea just i think drinking is not much of an issue unless they drink irresponsibly.
I believe people should drink if they want too, it should really be up to that person. People are conscious of what they are doing and if they cannot handle drinking responsibly than they should simply just not drink.
