U.S Gets Ready For The Fight

1.Who was Phillip Randolph, and why did he and President Roosevelt meet?
Phillip Randolph was an African-American labor leader, he met with the president because Roosevelt called him to tell him to back down and call-off the march.
2. Who were the WAACs and why were they important to the war effort?
They were women soldiers they were essential to the war because they could do certain jobs for example ambulance drivers, nurses, radio operators, etc. This also allowed more men to join the Army.

3. How well did African-Americans do during World War 2?
In the beginning it was bad because they were segregated, they only got remedial jobs and weren't allowed to take part in the war but in the end thanks to the agreement that took place between Randolph and Roosevelt  they began to get better jobs.
